Mumble is a Voice Over Internet Protocol or VoIP communication system which enables the online gamers communicate with their friends, colleagues or family with low latency, very efficient chat system. Here are steps on customizing your Mumble server.

Customizing Audio Input
If you open the settings window Audio input you will find two options. Compression and Transmission type are the two options.
· Transmission type has 3 options. Continuous, Push to talk and Voice activity. If you don’t use the headset most of the time, you can choose the Push to talk. If you choose Voice activity, you might encounter problems with infinite sound loops.
· Compression is the audio quality that is going out of the computer. 40kb/s is the default setting. It is recommended that you set it at default since it might cause rejection if you try to get into a higher server.
Customizing User Interface
Here the customization of the client comes into play. You may change the way the entire client is laid out. The user interface section includes the following: Layout, Application, Channel Tree, Look and Feel, and Tray Icon.
· The layout has few choices for designing on how the client should be presented.
· The application is where you can modify if it is on top of other windows most the time, in normal or minimal view. It also has an option to have mumble ask if you would like to quit while you are still connected to a server.
· Tray icon makes Mumble visible in the tray by the system clock if you decide to minimize it.
· Channel Tree this feature is used if you try to move channels. Mumble will ask you if you look to move the channel, not ask or do nothing.
· Look and Feel is where you can customize the skin for mumble. These skins are perfect for the 1.2x client. You can likewise change the language of the client.
Customizing Shortcuts
This is a window that will set up several commands all related to muting, chatting or dealing with the overlay.
Customizing the Network
This includes connections to the servers and automatically updating the client. You can choose to check all the settings. However, there are some that may not want the Reconnect to last server on startup checked. But for beginners this is a good option, if they don’t intend to mess around with a mumble. Customizing the Overlay
This is where you can modify the overlay in your game. You can either load or save the overlay options. Display FPS in game, and move the overlay provided by simply clicking and dragging the red dot where you want the names shown. If you right click the box name, there are several options that you can choose from. You can mess around with these settings until you find an acceptable setting.
